My Top 5 Picks At Aldi

Aldi is always my first stop when grocery shopping. Why? They have a variety of healthful and organic foods for a price that can’t be beat! And because the store has a small footprint with fewer options, it’s easy to zip through without getting distracted. Keep reading for a few of my Aldi faves.

Perfect for your next salad, artichokes add fiber, potassium and vitamin C, as well as a delicate texture and flavor to your bowl. Aldi sells artichokes in a glass jar and they’re even quartered so you need only to rinse, drain and dump! Tip: Save the glass jar to shake together this “Fan Favorite” Homemade Dressing.

Pop the lid of these crumbles for an effortless way to add a tangy, slightly savory taste to salads, egg dishes, warm grain bowls and more! Tip: Prefer a creamier texture? Pick up a log of the Emporium Selection Plain Goat Cheese instead!

Aldi does it right with this grass-fed goodness! This product is made from cows not treated with antibiotics or growth hormones, leaving you with all the benefits of beef without the worry of feeding your family potentially harmful substances used in conventional meat production. Tip: Use this beef in your next batch of tacos, sloppy joes or meatloaf!

My husband LOVES this spicy guac; I love that it’s made of super clean ingredients! And by being packaged in individual 2-ounce cups, we avoid the inevitable fate of tossing a tub of half-browned guac every week. All around, this guac is the best. Tip: Use it to top your tacos or pair with veggie sticks in your next packed lunch.

You won’t find a higher-quality string cheese for less ($)! This organic product is healthy, inexpensive and a great on-the-go snack! Tip: While you’re by the cheese, check out Aldi’s Simply Nature Organic Oven Roasted Turkey Breast. It’s the perfect pairing and perfectly clean!

HONORABLE MENTION

What better way to pump up a salad than adding kale, a hearty and nutritious green, to the mix! I love combining Organic Spring Mix (also a favorite from Aldi) with chopped kale in my summer salads or adding kale to casseroles and soups in the colder months. Tip: To avoid a too-crunchy texture, use your hands to massage the chopped kale for 1-2 minutes before tossing it into your salad. This will tenderize it, helping it blend with the other greens.

Although my Aldi list is much longer than this, these are a few staples I buy almost weekly. Stay tuned for more grocery recommendations from my favorite stores that will “enlighten” your future shopping trips!
