This ground beef taco recipe is a versatile, high-protein option that’s easy to customize to your family’s preferences. Serve it over fresh greens for a low-carb twist, wrap it in a sprouted-grain tortilla or crunchy shell for a handheld bite, or layer it on chips for classic nachos with a satisfying crunch.
Servings: 6-8
INGREDIENTS:
2 Tbsp avocado oil
1 extra-large onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 pounds organic grass-fed ground beef
4 ½ Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cumin
1 ½ tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS:
- In a pot over medium heat, sauté onion in oil until softened. Add garlic and sauté for 1 more minute.
- Add ground beef and brown, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Drain.
- Add spices, stir and cook for 1 minute (or until warmed through). Enjoy in your favorite tortilla, shell or over a salad!
NOTES:
We like our taco meat on the drier side—less mess with every bite. For more moisture, add ½ to 1 cup of beef bone broth after the spices (step 3) or when you’re warming up leftovers.
